On another bike ride with my husband this weekend, we discovered that the Princess Margaret Show Home is now open ( although they are advertising that it opens on Sept 8th). We immediately parked our bikes and went for a tour.
Of the 6 Oakville Show Homes, this one is my favourite! I love the open, spacious feeling of the home. The neutral walls and floors make it feel fresh and modern without being cold. There are so many fabulous details in this home - here are some of my favourites.
The living room is off of the entry way and has a relaxed vibe. The soaring ceilings are accentuated with a floor to ceiling stone fireplace. I love the simple black windows and glass doors throughout the house.

On the other side of the entry hall is the beautiful dining room. Grey has been used throughout the house and is paired with a blue accessories in the room. The chairs are upholstered in the most gorgeous shade of blue-grey linen fabric. I think I want to add some blue into my home now!

The kitchen is very open and has a large marble island and a huge built in cabinet/hutch for storing dishes and serving accessories. There are 2 full size sinks on a very long run of counter against the back wall. I love that they didn't put a sink in the island. ( A sink in an island is one of my pet peeves!) There are no upper cabinets which adds to the openness of the space.
There are 3 bedrooms upstairs and my favourite is not the principle bedroom but the guest suite. I love the bed and the bedding is beautiful. I especially like the duvet cover with the gold medallion pattern. The colour palette of cream, grey and mustard is pretty without being too feminine.

On the lower level is a TV room with a fantastic bar/kitchen. The floor looks like wood but is actually ceramic tile.

But I think the room I like the most is the laundry/craft room. Who wouldn't want to do ironing if your room looked like this? Love it!
