IDS 2013

That's the Interior Design Show - a fabulous and inspiring show featuring the newest and greatest in the design world held in Toronto every January.

Although there were lots of fabulous things, here are a few that topped my list.

1. The 'hide-away' kitchen from Italian company Gatto. It was amazing to watch as the facet was lowered and the island top was pushed over to completely conceal the prep area. Perfect for small space condos.

Now you see it...

Now you don't.
2 Gorgeous Light fixtures.

How cool?!

This ethereal floral fixture was my favorite from Emily Quinn

3. A free standing tub carved out of travertine. Wouldn't that be amazing in a Muskoka cottage? It weighed 2,000 lbs and cost $24,000.00!

From Stone Forest

4. Textured tile - I have definitely been seeing a lot of interesting textured tile recently.

Tile from the Ikea kitchen booth looks like folded paper

5. And speaking of Ikea Kitchen... This award winning booth was fantastic! ( It won the Gold Booth Award for best display at the show and no wonder! ) The kitchen and bathroom space was based on a rustic, industrial interpretation of Scandinavian design. At first glance, you would never have guessed Ikea. Loved it!

6. Booth display - My second favourite was the Beauti-Tone paint booth. I loved how they turned the wall into a full size inspiration board. Very impressive.

It is all so inspiring! Can't wait for 2014!
