It's been a very busy last few months, and after hosting many dinners and cocktail parties over the holidays, we have decided on a quiet night in for New Year's Eve. I am looking forward to a relaxed and casual evening ( with no big clean up afterwards ).
However, I can't help but think about the party I would have planned...
It would be dramatic - black and white with lots of gold - and lots of champagne of course.
Here are some great inspirations I found on Pinterest.
Love the black paper backdrop for the bar set up
Dinner for 4 served at a beautiful table
Gold candelabras with black candles are so elegant
Glasses rimmed with gold sugar - yes please!
Black and white straws add a fun touch
Blackberries in champagne continue the colour theme
I have always loved this Oreo cake by Kevin Sharkey for Martha Stewart. How fun would it be to dunk the cookies in milk spiked with brandy or Kahlua?
I do LOVE this gold frosted cake
Celebrate the countdown with DIY Confetti Pops
Helium balloons with curling ribbon From Martha Stewart - maybe next year...
So whether you are planning a night on the town, dinner with friends or a quiet night in, remember to reflect on the past, and welcome 2014 with hope and happiness.
Happy New Year!
